This project included site grading, access roads, construction of influent pump station, headworks building with washer/compactor and automated bar screen, vortex grit chamber with grit classifier, North and South splitter boxes, aeration basin, clarifiers, UV disinfection and building, non-potable water pump station, cascade, RAS/WAS pump station and building, scum pump station, process building with laboratory, MCC room, office, break room, maintenance, etc., piping, valves, and all associated appurtenances.

While the project was first let in March 2003, the day that the United States declared war with Iraq, all bids were rejected due to economic uncertainty.  With a limited amount of funding for this project, and the fact of war now driving prices skyward, the City of Tonganoxie was interested in finding innovative means and methods of maximizing their use of available funds.  BG was able to assist the City in purchasing almost $1 million of the major equipment directly from the suppliers, thereby allowing the City to re-bid the project in December 2003, and award the contract to BRB.
